1. Notebooks were returned. 2. Stars were today's hot topic! We will continue with our galaxy next week. The Crab Nebula is one of the most studied remains of a stellar explosion. It is widely accepted that the supernova was seen in the year 1054 A.D. by Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Arab astronomers who reported sighting a new bright star in the heavens. https://astronomy.com/news/2007/06/crab-nebula-exploded-in-1054
1. We took our Unit 2 review quiz today. 2. We completed the e-Text section "Objects of the Solar System" today. 3. We discussed Creation and will continue on Monday with the Big Bang Theory. MOON PHASES PROJECT
The Moon Phases project is due Monday, November 21.
There will be a vocabulary quiz Wednesday, November 16 over the vocabulary words for Unit 2: Organization of the Solar System. You should have them in your notebook.
Tuesday's eclipse We started Unit 3: Solar System and the Universe today.
2. Read the e-Text, Solar System Objects, through the Figure 2 activity. The above diagram shows Pluto's orbit in comparison to the other planets. Pluto's orbit is "weird." Not only is it an ellipse, it is also on an angle. Maybe this is why it has not yet cleared its orbital path of debris! What do you think? I'll be heading outside very early with my hot cocoa to very the eclipse!
God is truly wonderful!
